    Overview

2Apply Verify is the verification layer built into 2Apply applications. It validates applicant identity and supporting documents before you shortlist, reducing manual checking and application fraud. This article covers:

    • What Verify checks
    • Where results appear
    • Reading verification outcomes
    • Applicant privacy

    What Verify checks

When an applicant submits through 2Apply with Verify enabled, the following checks run automatically:

    1. Identity documents — driver licence and passport details are validated against the issuing source via the national Document Verification Service (DVS).
    2. Income documents — payslips and bank statements are analysed for signs of digital alteration.
    3. Tenancy database — the applicant is checked against national tenancy databases for prior listings.
    4. Contact details — mobile number and email ownership are confirmed during the application via one-time codes.

Note: Verify supplements your judgement — it does not approve or reject applicants. Reference checks and your agency's assessment criteria still apply.

    Where results appear

    1. Open Applications and select an application.
    2. The Verify panel at the top of the application shows one row per check with a green, amber or red indicator.
    3. Select any row to see the detail behind the result, for example which licence field failed to match.

    Reading verification outcomes

    1. Green — verified. The document or detail matched the authoritative source.
    2. Amber — attention. The check could not be completed, or something warrants a manual look. A common example is a payslip in a scanned format that could not be analysed.
    3. Red — failed. The detail did not match the source, or a document shows signs of alteration. Treat red results seriously and verify with the applicant directly before proceeding.

Tip: An amber result is not an accusation — older documents and unusual formats commonly trigger it. Ask the applicant for an alternative document before drawing conclusions.

    Applicant privacy

    1. Applicants consent to the checks within the 2Apply application flow before submitting.
    2. Identity document numbers are transmitted to the DVS for matching but are not stored in the verification result you see.
    3. Verification results are visible only to users at the agency the application was submitted to, and are removed in line with the 2Apply data retention policy after the application is finalised.
